We are thrilled to have Robert returning to Eddie’s and he is coming with a new CD!
Often compared to J. J. Cale, John Prine and Tom Waits, Atyeo is a songwriter’s songwriter. His songs take the listener all over the emotional map with a delivery that is boisterously entertaining and wry observations often verging on the black. Growing audiences enthusiastically applaud his performances, relating to his words, his humour, his sensitivity and warmth.
“Atyeo’s lyrics, powerful and insightful, are woven melodies that have an electic mix of stylings, including jazz, blues and folk. He makes the crowd jump with tunes like “Out of Control” and “Don’t Wanna Be Late”. Ballads such as “The Wishing” and “Heart in Two”, haunting, lyrically and musically, is reflected in the rapt attention of his audience.”Lynne Hurry / Past President of Mariposa,

We are thrilled to once again have Morgan take to the stage with his 30+ years of blues playing experience to share with you.
Like the slender Mr. Davis himself this is stripped-down lean-sounding blues. The spot light is squarely on Davis and he’s up to it. His guitar is uncluttered relying on bent notes and choked off chords for expression rather than lightning runs. His voice has a warm good natured quality to it and his wry sense of humour and stinging guitar make for rewarding listening. Join us for an evening of glistening music and warm vibes as Jarmo Jalava and Paul Shilton open their musical hearts for us. You’ll see and feel the world a little differently after one of Jarmo’s poignant shows. His rootsy, uplifting, poetic and entirely original songs float somewhere in the musical space between contemporary folk, world and rock.
“When long-time Toronto indie-scene bassist Jen Gillmor picked up the cello and joined forces with the newest creative incarnation of award-winning blues musician Dennis Gaumond, Jennis was born. The duo tickles ears with an uncommon sonic blend of vocals, electric, acoustic and resophonic guitars, custom-tuned harmonicas, cello, didgeridoo, flutes, jawharp and percussion. Songs celebrate the mysteries and poignancies of life, rooted in a faith in peace and love as the highest powers. Their unusual rootsy sound is at times bluesy, at times funky, jazzy or folky, with a hint of exotic ethnic influences”. Please check out there web site – www.jennis.ca , listen to a few cuts of their music and then book some tickets because they are going to be delightful. $15 plus hst.
